How To Increase The Life Of Yacht Battery?
In fact, the battery for general yachts does not need to be maintained, but the battery has a service life. Here is a brief introduction for yacht enthusiasts to extend the life and battery efficiency of yacht batteries.
Keep the battery fully charged. In this way, the battery can maintain a long service life;
Check the battery at least every 30 days;
Clean the battery connectors and wiring harness regularly.
Check whether the battery cable is reliably connected to the terminal. After tightening by hand, use a wrench to tighten the terminal nut 1/4 turn.
Check the electrolyte capacity of each battery in the battery pack. The electrolyte level should be above the scale line. If the liquid level is lower than the scale line, you need to add distilled water until the electrolyte reaches the appropriate capacity value, and be careful not to overflow the battery box when the electrolyte is overfilled.
Keep the battery in a cool and dry place when charging for a long time.
Use a hydrometer or voltmeter to check the battery charge every three months.
If the specific gravity is lower than 1.225 or the voltage is lower than 12.4, the battery needs to be charged.
