Maintenance tips for FRP yachts:

1. Avoid contact with sharp, hard objects. When the FRP hull collides with the shore stones, concrete structures and metal components, scratches and other damage may occur, and protective measures shall be taken. For example, anti-collision and wear-resistant metal and rubber fenders are provided at the frequently worn bows, docks and side walls, and wear-resistant rubber and plastic soft materials are laid on the deck.

2. Found damage and repaired in time. Always check the hull. If the resin is peeled off, the scratches are deep, and the fibers are exposed, it must be repaired in time. Otherwise, the water will infiltrate and accelerate the damage.

3. When not in use, especially in the cold winter season, you should put it ashore. Since the FRP has a certain water absorption property, the water can gradually penetrate into the interior along the micro channel of the interface between the glass fiber and the resin, so that the strength of the FRP gradually decreases. Especially in the winter, the infiltrated water is cold and frozen, which makes the water seepage channel expand and the damage is even greater. Therefore, every time the boat is not in use, it should be placed off the shore of the water to make the infiltrated water volatilize and the strength can be gradually restored. This will extend the life of the ship. After the boat is ashore, it should be cleaned first, and the padding should be placed in a square. It should be placed indoors. If it is placed outdoors, it should be covered with a tarpaulin and often ventilated to prevent moisture. When the boat is temporarily not in use, it is best to take care of the water bank.

4. Do not accumulate water for a long time in the boat. If there is water in the boat, it should be removed in time. In case of acid or alkali medium such as battery liquid, it must be rinsed with water and dried.
