Types And Requirements For Yacht Inspection

First, the inspection category of the yacht:

1. Initial inspection, including:

(1) Construction inspection of new yachts;

(2) The initial inspection of existing yachts.

2. Post-construction inspection, including:

(1) Annual inspection;

(2) Upper row / dock inspection.

(3) Temporary inspection.

Second, the issuance of the certificate:

1. All yachts that apply for inspection shall, after completion of the initial inspection, comply with the requirements of this requirement and issue a “Yacht Certificate”.

2. The validity period of the certificate is not more than 5 years.

Third, the interval between post-construction inspection:

1. For yachts that have obtained the required certificates, the post-construction inspection shall be carried out according to the required intervals and the prescribed contents.

2. The annual inspection shall be carried out within 3 months before and after the completion of the date of completion, commissioning or renewal of the inspection. Upon passing the inspection, the surveyor signs the corresponding certificate and confirms that the certificate continues to be valid within the specified period of action.

3. The upper row/dock inspection shall be no less than 2 times within 5 years, and the longest interval shall not be more than 3 years, but one of them shall be carried out at the annual inspection. Upon passing the inspection, the surveyor will sign the corresponding certificate and confirm that the certificate will continue to be valid within the prescribed time limit.

4. When the yacht has one of the following conditions, it should apply for temporary inspection. Upon passing the inspection, the surveyor will sign the corresponding certificate and confirm that the certificate will continue to be valid within the prescribed time limit:

(1) When an accident occurs, affecting the seaworthiness of the yacht;

(2) When changing the use or navigation area defined by the yacht certificate;

(3) When the certificate is invalid;

(4) When the owner or operator of the yacht changes or changes in the port of registry;

(5) When it comes to the safe repair or modification of a yacht.

5. If the yacht fails to perform the post-construction inspection according to the operating conditions stipulated in the certificate, the certificate will be invalid.
