Winter Maintenance Method Of Aluminum Alloy Yacht

In winter, the aluminum alloy yacht needs to be checked for antifreeze. All water-containing devices must contain an appropriate amount of antifreeze. Antifreeze is suitable for various climatic conditions: it can expand the working temperature range, reduce the freezing point, and increase the boiling point. When the temperature is close to 0 ℃, in order to avoid freezing, please ensure that the cooling tube is filled with an antifreeze mixture. Before starting the system for injecting an antifreeze mixture, the cooling circuit needs to be cleaned. Nevertheless, whenever the outside temperature drops below 0°C, the water (freshwater or seawater) in the pipeline may still freeze and cause the pipeline to rupture. Therefore, it is necessary to diligently inspect all water-containing systems and equipment, including seawater systems (engine cooling systems, generator cooling systems, etc.) and freshwater systems (wipers, freshwater pumps, etc.).

In addition, at low temperatures, diesel generally produces some solid paraffin-like suspended particles to block the oil filter, resulting in the engine not working properly. Therefore, in winter, diesel fuel should be used as appropriate to meet local climate conditions to ensure fuel mobility. No. 0 light diesel is generally suitable for use in all regions of the country from April to September, and it can also be used in the winter south of the Yangtze River; No. 10 light diesel is suitable for winter and severe winter seasons south of the Great Wall.

Before the engine and generator enter the winter, let freshwater flow into the seawater circuit, check the antifreeze, and the sacrificial yang to prevent electrochemical corrosion, remove the accumulated salt and spray the protective agent. Check the engine oil and fuel filter and change if necessary. Carry out maintenance according to the usage and maintenance guidelines provided by the engine and generator manufacturers.

The battery detects the liquid level and keeps charging the battery once a week. Protect the contact terminals with grease and petroleum jelly; it is recommended to disconnect all batteries from the system and charge the batteries regularly with a separate charger.

Outer seat cushion and sun cushion Remove all seat cushions and store them in a dry place.

Cover the sofa with a cloth cover for wood and cabin leather. Block all windows with the special shading cloth provided to prevent light from entering the cabin, especially to avoid.

The influence of ultraviolet rays on the color of wood and fabric.

The teak deck is washed with water and neutral soap and treated with appropriate products. Use sandpaper only when necessary.

Aluminum and steel are cleaned with fresh water to clean all metal parts, and then wiped with a cloth dampened with petroleum jelly for protection.

Sacrifice the sun to check the sun loss at the hull, propeller shaft, and pressure plate, etc., and change it when necessary.

The sensor log is taken out and cleaned. Then block the inlet and outlet of the pipeline with the provided stopper.

After the windshield is wiped with freshwater, lubricate it with petroleum jelly.

Check the oil level of the gearbox if possible with an anchor chain winch. Protect the electrical components with a suitable protective spray and lubricate the clutch and anchor sprocket with silicone oil.

Before the air conditioner enters winter, fresh water is pumped into the seawater system. After winter, check the proportion of antifreeze in the freshwater circuit: add or change as needed (at least every two seasons); perform maintenance according to the manufacturer's instruction manual.

After cleaning the water tank with disinfectant, drain the freshwater circuit.

Use a cleaner to clean the fuel tank, especially when the fuel has signs of water.

It is recommended that the engine room be thoroughly cleaned to remove salt deposits on the equipment and to protect all electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices with a protective spray.

The gray water tank puts disinfectant into the drains of washbasins, showers, and women's bidets. Empty the water tank, clean, and check that the float is working properly.

The black water tank puts hygienic decontamination products containing paraformaldehyde into all toilets and then cleans the water tank several times. Empty the water tank completely.

The thruster protects the electronic components with a suitable spray and checks the oil level.

Fridge cleaning refrigerator. If the yacht is parked in the open air, cover the outdoor refrigerator.

Washing machine and dishwasher perform an empty washing cycle, carefully removing all residual detergent. Clean the filter.

Check all lights on the deck and flybridge.

Clean all cabins and check all fillings. Check the tightness of all hatch covers and lubricate their joints with suitable silicone oil. Clean the fan coil with an air spray gun to suck the powder from the rear net.

Check the hull shell and all components: propeller, sun, axis, bracket, rudder, balance adjustment piece, fan coil, seawater cock, bow thruster.

Lift the yacht to a sheltered and dry place. If the yacht is parked in the open, cover with a waterproof layer, and pay attention to maintain good ventilation. Otherwise, harmful moisture may form.

Clean the yacht with fresh water. Check all the systems and fasteners on the boat: no signs of damage, aging, or cracks can be used. Repair damaged parts and replace them when necessary.

Disconnect all unnecessary power consumption units.

The above is the winter maintenance method of aluminum alloy yacht. If your yacht is not used for a long time, you can also follow the above method. The maintenance of aluminum alloy yachts is some routine maintenance. Oulun Shipbuilding recommends that you take a detailed look at the operating manual that comes with the aluminum alloy yacht before doing maintenance.
