1. Clean the exterior of the engine with clean water and thoroughly rinse the cooling water system. Let the water drain completely. Wipe off all surface water with an oily rag.

2. Drain all fuel from the fuel line, fuel cock, and carburetor and clean the parts including the screen in the fuel cock.

3. Disassemble the carburetor, remove all dust inside and clean it with gasoline and compressed air.

4. Remove the spark plug and fill it with engine oil or rust inhibitor for storage. Pull the recoil starter handle several times to circulate oil to internal parts.

5. Apply lubricating grease to the propeller shaft.

6. Change the gear oil in the gearbox.

7. Apply grease to all sliding parts, bolts, and nuts.

8. Use a dry rag to wipe off all water and salt from electrical parts.

9. Place the outboard engine vertically in a dry and ventilated place.

How to use the external fuel tank

When using an external fuel tank, turn off the switch of the internal mailbox. Otherwise, the oil and some air in the external fuel tank will enter the internal fuel tank when pulled. In addition, before using the external oil tank, you need to pinch the pre-supply knob on the oil pipe to supply oil so that the machine can be easily started.

Break-in instructions

Some friends ** used to do pondering in the bucket or sink at home after getting the new machine. This operation is possible, but the requirement is low. The propeller and the water pump should be immersed in the water to start, and the machine needs to be hung during operation. For the forward gear, don't avoid the neutral fuel valve, always pay attention to whether the cooling water flow of the machine's water outlet is normal, the red line is the water level line, and the oil change method for the low water line gear of the machine

For outboard motors, whether it is 2 strokes or 4 strokes, whether it is high horsepower or small horsepower, the process of changing gear oil is the same. It is nothing more than the process of removing 2 screws and then draining and refueling.

Emergency measures to be taken against engines submerged in water (if the outboard engine is completely submerged in water, immediately take the outboard engine to your dealer after removing it)　　

1. Take it out of the water immediately and wash it with clean water to remove all traces of salt and dirt.　　

2. Remove the spark plug and completely drain the water in the engine. Turn the flywheel several times by pulling the start rope handle to empty the water remaining in the engine. Drain the fuel line and carburetor. Inject sufficient engine oil or rust inhibitor for storage into the engine through the spark plug hole and air muffler.　　

3. After performing the above steps, it may be possible to start the engine. However, electrical parts and carburetor can quickly damage and malfunction. Therefore, be sure to ask your dealer to overhaul the engine as soon as possible.
